Farmingdale board signs off on roadwork, pickups and flood pump financing

The Farmingdale Board approved multiple public-works contracts and equipment financing at its Oct. 7 meeting, covering road resurfacing, drainage equipment and vehicle financing.
The board previously approved a contract with Roadwork Ahead to pave and crack-seal multiple streets as directed by the superintendent in the amount of $512,048.00; the minutes note paving had been scheduled to begin Sept. 26. The board also approved purchasing a trailer-mounted Pioneer Prime pump for use in flooding conditions at a cost of $48,700 from United Rentals and contracted Castro Family Landscaping for plantings at Yoakum Street Park for $32,069.05.
At the regular meeting the board declared two DPW pickup trucks (a 2007 Chevy Silverado and a 2012 Ford pickup) surplus and approved Real Lease financing to acquire two pickup trucks, one trailer-mounted pump and two Building Department vehicles in the amount of $251,608.68 (RESOLVED #2025-10-14). Trustee Priestley recused from a prior Lenox Court milling and paving approval (noted alongside work-session records) where that item recorded a 3/0/1 vote.
The approvals included previously reported smaller contracts and personnel-related budget items; the board did not provide additional public funding breakdowns beyond the contract totals recorded in the minutes.
