Trustees approve Open Mic Nights, Art Crawl changes and Halloween Parade on Main Street
Summary
The Board approved Cultural Arts Committee courtroom use for three Open Mic Nights, Art Crawl street/parking changes for Oct. 6 and a Halloween Parade on Oct. 26, 2024. Several temporary closures and parking restrictions were authorized.
At the Sept. 16 work session the Board approved multiple event-related requests and temporary changes to parking and access on Main Street. Trustee Cheryl Parisi moved (seconded by Trustee Craig Rosasco) to approve the Cultural Arts Committee's use of the courtroom for Open Mic Nights on Oct. 24, Nov. 19 and Dec. 5, 2024 (resolution #2025-09-08). Trustee Walter Priestley moved (seconded by Deputy Mayor Barrett) the Oct. 6 Art Crawl changes allowing vendor trucks to park at the closed Parking Lot 4 entrance and restricting parking between the access-way and Conklin Street (resolution #2025-09-14).
Trustees also approved the Farmingdale BID's request for a Halloween Parade on Oct. 26 (rain date Oct. 27), assembling at Moby Way and continuing south on Main Street to the Village Green with family activities to follow (resolution #2025-09-15). The Board authorized a one-month temporary naming of the Parking Lot 4 entrance as "Nutty Irishman Way" (#2025-09-13) to support promotional activities tied to downtown events.
