Farmingdale building department reports several near-complete projects, new permits and public hearing for Verizon

Village officials reported that Blue and Gold Development's "The Enclave" at 1 Conklin Street is virtually complete and nearing certificate of occupancy and that a state-mandated light has been installed and is operational. The Sterling Green project is nearing completion with a temporary certificate of occupancy issued; the Carlyle has its certificate of occupancy and LIHP will conduct an electronic lottery for workforce units. The minutes also note that 7‑11 and Sunoco received ZBA approval and a Special Use Permit was extended while construction drawings are awaited.
Staff said a Dish Network building permit was issued and installation has begun. A Verizon submission to install communication equipment on the clock tower at Palmer's Shopping Center has been received; a public hearing for the Special Use Permit was set for Oct. 7, 2024 with an adjournment anticipated to November. Numerous smaller business items were discussed including a forthcoming Special Use Permit for 217 Main Street to become L.I. McGrath's and other tenant-fit-out and signage items. Building Inspector Ron DeMarrais' resignation was also noted in the meeting.
