Farmingdale approves $512,048 road paving contract; work to start Sept. 26

Trustee Cheryl Parisi moved and Deputy Mayor William Barrett seconded a resolution (#2025-09-12) on Sept. 16 approving Roadwork Ahead to pave and crack-seal several village streets for $512,048.00 under the village requirements contract. The list of roads includes Powell Place (Main St. to Normandy Dr.), Dale Drive, Hallock Street, Staples Street (Secatogue Ave. to Conklin St.), Oakview Avenue (Secatogue Ave. to Conklin St.), Hudson Street, Elizabeth Street (LIRR to Secatogue Ave.) and Secatogue Avenue (LIRR to Melville Rd.). Paving was scheduled to begin on Sept. 26, according to the minutes.
The resolution notes that the estimate includes a 10% contingency for crack-sealing and that the superintendent of public works will direct onsite priorities. Board members also reviewed other DPW items during the meeting, including crack sealing beginning in September by RWA and coordination with utility pole work tied to Altice and PSEG pole removals.
