The Planning Commission approved SUP 23-2026 on July 8 to allow Bella Salon Suites at 1703 Civic Center Drive, Unit 2, to operate as a salon-suites facility. Staff recommended approval subject to conditions including addressing missing landscaping on the property.
Applicant Jacqueline Mohoramorga described the salon-suites model: individual rental suites for licensed technicians who provide nails, pedicures, lashes and facials. "So we are salon suites. We pretty much offer individual suites for licensed beauticians, cosmetologists," she said, noting that current services are limited to nails and skin and that ventilation systems were approved by the state board.
Commissioners asked about proximity to nearby schools and signage; staff and the applicant said the location is near Tonopah and Civic Center Drive and directly south of a Rooted Schools building. The commission moved and approved the request with staff recommendations.
