The council unanimously approved a resolution Sept. 2 authorizing the city manager to execute a contract with Cam Creek Contracting for Kinney Drive repairs at a low bid of $138,250. Staff said the 2022 project had been left incomplete by a prior contractor who ran into financial and performance problems and that the city has been pursuing legal options while moving to finish the remaining work.
Daniel (staff) explained the work scope includes asphalt restoration at several locations, installation of concrete valve boxes, replacement of one damaged fire hydrant, and restoration of an existing drainage ditch. Daniel said the contractor had previously damaged a hydrant and replaced one at its cost but another hydrant remained out of service until the new work is completed. Council approved the contract without opposition.
