Council approved a specific use permit for an amusement arcade at 222 E. FM 544 after the applicant described a membership-based simulated-racing venue designed to limit noise and provide structured sessions.
Owner Boston Blake told the council the business will provide 10 high-end racing simulators without motion platforms and with individual headsets to reduce external noise. "We are not an arcade with a bunch of pinball machines and a bunch of loud noises," Blake said, adding the facility will offer 30- and 60-minute sessions, memberships, and partnerships with iRacing and local schools for esports teams.
Planning and Zoning recommended approval 7–0; one written opposition appeared in the packet but the applicant said two tenant letters supported the project. Council approved the ordinance unanimously. The use will be subject to the standards in the SUP packet, including hours and operations conditions listed there.
