The Planning & Zoning Commission approved a Specific Use Permit to allow Pixel Speed Sim Racing to operate a sim‑racing lounge in Suite 206 at Timber Ridge Center. The applicant, Boston Blake, described the business as a reservation‑based sim‑racing lounge with 10 rigs, headset audio, no alcohol service and no on‑site food preparation, and evening/Saturday hours to reduce parking conflicts with neighboring businesses.
Blake told commissioners the space would not generate the noise or foot traffic typically associated with an arcade: "We're not doing any food preparation, no alcohol, none of that," he said, adding that each simulator will use its own headset so sound remains contained. Staff reported one written opposition submitted late and one in‑favor email from an adjacent business owner; commissioners asked parking and operational questions, then moved and approved the SUP. The commission noted final business licensing and any site adjustments will follow normal city review and the item proceeds to City Council.
