Town administrator: FEMA paperwork, bids, vacancies, and Hope Elementary principal announced

The Town Administrator reported a possible additional FEMA obligation of $1,162.62, advertised sealed bids for paving and mowing (opening March 13), a vacant budget-committee seat for board appointment, and Shawn Carlson announced Melissa Goeke as the new permanent principal at Hope Elementary School.
The Town Administrator reported that FEMA May Day Storm obligations had been completed at the local level but that state paperwork (MEMA) remains in process and that the town may be entitled to an additional $1,162.62; the required paperwork was submitted.
The board was told that sealed bids have been advertised for this year's paving and a new three-year mowing contract; bids will be opened on March 13 and the items will appear on the March 17 Select Board agenda. The Select Board is responsible for appointing a replacement to a vacant budget-committee seat until the June election; nomination papers will be available Feb. 27–Apr. 9. Shawn Carlson announced Melissa Goeke as the new permanent principal for Hope Elementary School.
The Town Administrator also reported there are 1,001 real-estate accounts for FY2026 totaling $2,148,036.41, and that the second half of taxes is due April 30, 2026; there are 20 accounts with remaining FY2025 balances totaling $39,662.64 that will be subject to automatic foreclosure on Feb. 12, 2027 if unpaid.
