Supporters of the termination said the decision followed multiple personnel discussions and attempts to handle the change respectfully; opponents said the timing and communication had been unfair to a manager who was honored in 2025. The council did not announce additional personnel steps at the meeting; the motion carried with the vote tally recorded by the clerk.
