Farmingdale DPW reports storm response, tree work and plans for traffic-light installations

Public-works staff updated the board on maintenance and response activity. Superintendent Patanjo and DPW crews put out sandbags in the Linwood area and responded to a storm that threatened rainwater flooding to homes. Crews also assisted with moving furniture at Village Hall and worked on line striping and fleet maintenance.
The board recorded that Main Street poles for the Farmingdale Fire Department traffic light were installed and that Superintendent Patanjo is obtaining quotes and delivery schedules for traffic lights. The minutes also note coordination with the Town of Oyster Bay to install a decorative street light in Gino’s alleyway and to repair outages; GFI units for holiday lighting will be supplied by the Town. Additional operational items included scheduling tree trimming by Stapleton and storing movie-night equipment.
Board members also asked for follow-up on specific location items including repointing the Village Green Gazebo brick wall, evaluating lighting at Melville Road/Secatogue Avenue intersection, and checking Parking Lot 5 entrance sign.
