Farmingdale board declares surplus vehicles, approves two new Equinoxes and a clerk training trip

Trustees declared two 2013 Building Department vehicles surplus, approved purchase of two 2025 Chevrolet Equinox vehicles at $30,494 each under a BOCES contract, and authorized Deputy Clerk Daniel Ruckdeschel to attend NYCOM training (Sept. 16–20) with costs capped at $2,200.
At the Aug. 19 work session the Board took several administrative actions. Deputy Mayor William Barrett moved (seconded by Trustee Cheryl Parisi) to declare two 2013 Building Department Chevrolet Equinox vehicles surplus (Resolution #2025-08-12). The Board then approved purchase of two new 2025 Chevrolet Equinox vehicles from Smithtown Chevrolet under a BOCES contract at a cost of $30,494.00 each (Resolution #2025-08-13).
Separately, the Board approved travel for Deputy Clerk Daniel Ruckdeschel to attend the NYCOM Fall Training school in Saratoga Springs from Sept. 16–20, 2024, for costs not to exceed $2,200 (Resolution #2025-08-11). These items were presented as routine operational and budgeted expenses; the Board recorded the motions and did not attach contract award details beyond vendor and contract vehicle pricing.
