Residents raise safety and maintenance concerns; mayor says Powell House will become a museum

During the public comment period residents raised multiple concerns about downtown safety and property maintenance. One resident said delivery vehicles are blocking traffic in the commercial district (including parking lots and Main Street/Route 24) and asked that the landlord of the Citibank property be contacted for needed maintenance; the minutes record the request but do not show a follow-up action or which official would contact the landlord.

Another resident asked about the future use of the Powell House; Mayor Ralph Ekstrand told the public that "it would be converted to a museum and meeting space." A resident also raised questions about cars parked on residential streets and was told to contact Village Hall for assistance.
