The Village of Farmingdale Board of Trustees on Aug. 19 adopted a bond resolution authorizing the issuance of bonds in a principal amount not to exceed $2,000,000 to finance surface drainage improvements on Linwood Avenue and the surrounding vicinity. The resolution (No. 2025-08-14) was moved by Trustee Cheryl Parisi and seconded by Trustee Craig Rosasco and was adopted on a roll call vote with Mayor Ralph Ekstrand and all trustees voting aye.
The resolution states the estimated maximum cost of the project is $2,000,000, sets the period of probable usefulness at 40 years, and authorizes the levy and collection of taxes on taxable real property in the Village to pay principal and interest. The resolution also notes compliance with Treasury Regulation Section 1.150-2 for reimbursement of prior expenditures, directs publication of a notice in the official village newspaper and posting in public places, and makes the bond subject to a permissive referendum.
Board members discussed recent rain-related flooding on Linwood Avenue, the village’s temporary rental of a trailer-mounted pump, and DPW storm-response work; trustees thanked DPW crews for sandbagging and keeping water out of homes. The Board also discussed procurement details and noted H2M engineering is scheduled to appear at a forthcoming work session to advance design and construction planning. The resolution takes effect subject to publication and the statutory permissive‑referendum period.
