Town Administrator reports audit timeline, first-responder readiness, GIS mapping and culvert grant opportunity

At the Feb. 10 meeting the Town Administrator reported staff met with the auditor on Feb. 3 to update TRIO records and tentatively schedule the 2024 municipal audit for around April; completion remains dependent on the school audit. Chief Eaton reported that Hope’s first responders were ready as of Feb. 1 and that Hope received its first EMS tone on Feb. 2, with three EMTs responding.
The administrator said she met with Leticia vanVuuren of Knox County to plan interactive GIS mapping for the town website. She also described a Maine Infrastructure Adaptation Fund grant opportunity through Maine DOT that could fund culvert work on Robbins Rd; the town may apply for up to $3 million but would need a 5% local match (cash or in-kind).
