Resident describes dangerous, sinking road repairs on 6th Street

Otis Hill (1023 6th Street) described persistent sinking holes where utility crews installed underground lines, saying crews covered the work with insufficient material and the holes have since caved in again. "There's holes in various areas all over the road...There's a huge, huge hole. It's very dangerous," he told the council, asking staff to contact the contractors for proper repairs.
Hill said standing water fills the holes during rain and warned they pose a hazard to children and cars. Council and staff identified the affected blocks and confirmed city crews would follow up to seek corrective action from the contractor.
