Rosenberg announces downtown Food Truck Festival, old car show and Labor Day closures

The mayor and council members used the opening portion of the meeting to share several community announcements. The mayor asked residents to "save the date" for a Food Truck Festival scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the downtown parking lot at 2221 Avenue F, across from Hernandez Funeral Home; the event will feature food trucks, market vendors and a bike show and is free and open to the public.
Council member Bill also noted a downtown old car show on Sept. 6 and reported that Water Tower Square has a new "1883" sign installed to honor Rosenberg's founding year. The mayor reminded residents that many city offices will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 1, with normal business hours resuming Sept. 2.
