After a staff presentation from the North Carolina League of Municipalities, Archdale City Council voted to transition the city's property/casualty and workers' compensation insurance to the NCLM Interlocal Risk Financing Fund of North Carolina (IRFFNC) and the North Carolina Interlocal Risk Management Agency (NCIRMA), effective July 1, 2026.
Councilman John Glass moved approval after a discussion comparing premium costs; the motion was seconded by Councilman Herb Andrews and passed on a roll-call tally of 5–1. Councilman Roger Blackwell recorded the lone dissent, which he said was based on a minor cost difference after revised quotes.
