Council discussed proposed changes to the consultant selection policy under item 6A. Staff explained the change moves the policy from a council-level policy to an administrative policy handled at the manager and director level, with staff presenting ranked consultant options and the rationale to the full council prior to selection: "The new policy will be more administrative policy, so it'll be more of a manager level and director level," a staff member said.
Councilmembers asked for clarity on how rankings and criteria would be presented; staff said they would include rankings, criteria and rationale when returning items to the full council. The motion to adopt the revised approach was moved by Councilmember Brown Marshall, seconded by Councilmember Oterkirk, and carried unanimously.
