The council approved a revision to the school lease at the Sept. 17 meeting, changing the effective date to Oct. 1, 2024, and confirming a five-year term. Cllr Deaderick moved the change, Cllr Medeiros seconded, and the motion passed unanimously as recorded in the minutes.
Committee updates included a report from Code Enforcement (George Crawford) noting no new business; the Historic Preservation Board (Alison Scott) approved two requests—a fence and a shed—and reported two open seats; the Tree Committee (Cheryl Wallace) did not meet. Council directed the Town Manager to produce sign designs for Roberts Acre and the Town Hall and recommended Gene Glover for the work.
Council also heard manager comments noting that 'Lynda' is on vacation for two weeks and commended her work; several citizens thanked volunteers Jessi and AJ for festival support.
