Councilors approved two festival parking requests at the Sept. 17 meeting. Separately, the McIntosh Christian Community Church's request was approved on a motion by Cllr Jones, seconded by Vice President Mullikin.
President Ciotti presented local venue-rate research and recommended raising the community center's rental fee; Cllr Deaderick opposed renting to non-residents and asked staff to draft a resolution that includes multiple options. Council members also discussed festival logistics: VP Mullikin requested permission to close the park at 8 p.m. for the festival, and the Christian church will sell hamburgers and hot dogs on Friday. Midstate Electric's temporary fixes to the community-center lights were noted, and the company will provide a quote for a permanent repair.
The council encouraged residents to pick up the emergency-management handouts distributed at the meeting and reminded volunteers and staff to coordinate for the festival.
