Council and school leaders call for recurring workshops to repair community ties

Councilors and school board leaders used the Sept. 16 workshop to emphasize repairing relationships between the town and McIntosh Area School after what participants described as "lingering hostility." Cllr. Deaderick, a founding board member, and Cllr. Jones both said they want the town and school to move forward together; Vice President Mullikin called the meeting "a way to make a good step towards the future."
School Board President Deb McKay and councilors proposed repeating workshops of this type to maintain momentum and increase coordination on events and shared use of facilities. Jonathan Ward said the school already partners with the Garden Club and wants to expand collaboration with other town groups to strengthen community ties.
