RDC project list and downtown sidewalk dispute surface in budget workshop

The mayor argued the sidewalk is city property and said, "It's a reflection on the city," urging the council to consider city-funded repairs rather than defer because the property owner objected.
RDC staff said sidewalk funding is typically tied to commercial-retail projects and the RDC board will review the full sidewalk list; council members requested the item be returned to the council for a direct vote if appropriate. Several RDC projects—US 90 revitalization, Seabourn Creek park work and LED lighting—remained supported for budget inclusion.
