Board approves 2025 budget amendment to accept grants; finance director authority noted

The board approved a resolution authorizing a 2025 budget amendment to accept grant awards, donations and other revenue for Eau Claire County. Supervisor Pagonis explained that many of the grants have already been awarded to departments and that, under a change in Title 4, the finance director has authority to enter those awards into the budget.
"The new title 4 has given this authority to the finance director," Supervisor Pagonis said, urging passage to formally recognize the grants already accepted. The board took roll-call votes and the resolution passed with 27 yes and 2 absent.
