Wanda Irish sworn in as Harrison mayor; council president and committee rosters set

At its Jan. 13 meeting, Harrison City Council swore in Wanda Irish as mayor, installed Josephine Prophet as council president, and approved several committee appointments including Public Works and Administration rosters.
City Clerk/Treasurer Miriah Pfeiffer administered the oath of office to Wanda Irish, who was sworn in as Harrison’s mayor during the Jan. 13 meeting. "City Hall will be closed on January 19th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day," Mayor Irish told the council during her report later in the meeting.
The council also set leadership and committee assignments. Will Butler nominated Josephine Prophet for council president; the nomination passed with John Gray recorded as a NAY. The mayor proposed and the council approved appointments of John Gray and Charlie Shutt to the Public Works Committee and appointed Josephine Prophet, Kelly Kilian and Will Butler to the Administration Committee. Several appointments and the council president selection were approved by roll-call votes recorded in the minutes.
