He said the largest single item is replacement of failing air-wall mechanisms and tracks, and he outlined major items: a laser projector (~$50,000), a $250,000 audio-visual upgrade to replace an obsolete AMX system, $150,000 for door mechanism replacement, $30,000 for painting, and two projection screens at $20,000.
Blum explained parts are no longer available for many systems and that continuing to patch components risks losing the facility's ability to host concurrent events. "That's the biggest of the ticket items," he said referring to the air-wall replacement, and he described the laser projector as an investment that would reduce rental costs and have an expected payback period. Michelle Shaw and the board asked clarifying questions about the split of funds and confirmed the total; the board did not take a final vote on funding at the meeting and requested additional detail for formal consideration in August.
