Board staff cautioned that contract language needs review before payment. A staff member said, "the language indicates that we'll be paid out of proceeds from sales tax collected from Target," and recommended verifying documentation before issuing payment. The board granted Shaw permission to include the item in a revised preliminary budget for later formal consideration but did not take final action at the meeting. Staff will obtain the contract, request supporting documentation from the counterparty, and return with a formal recommendation.
