"If we can raise our attendance rate just 1%, that's $233,000," Dr. Stevens said, adding that the amount could fund about three classroom teacher positions or additional counselors. The administration said it will pursue targeted strategies at campuses—particularly grades 9-11—to reduce absences and will provide grade-level enrollment projections to board and council members before the next workshop.
