The commissioners directed staff to send termination‑for‑convenience notices to several monitoring providers and authorized the auditor to prepare agreements with Green Electric Solutions (GES) to begin service Sept. 1, 2026.
Commissioner Lichty said the court had worked through contract details and legal considerations and that the terminations are the first step toward moving monitoring and alarm service to a new provider. He warned colleagues that if the court chooses not to hire GES later, terminating the existing contracts could create a coverage gap: "If you don't plan to hire Green security, don't vote for this," he said.
The court approved the termination notices and authorization to ready agreements with Green Electric Solutions unanimously. Staff said contracts and service start dates will be finalized in subsequent court action and that the change is expected to improve local representation and modestly reduce monthly monitoring costs across multiple county buildings.
