Law Director Costa Mastros told council that no one bid on the city's minerals in early December, but that an oil and gas company subsequently reached out and that "the minerals are back in play." He said he will provide more details to council in a forthcoming update.
Mastros also reported that the Brookfield group's conditional-use/variance request before the Planning and Zoning Commission was denied and that the developer has filed an administrative appeal with the Jefferson County Court of Common Pleas; he said he will keep council informed as the appeal proceeds. Council did not take immediate action on either item during the meeting.
