Councilman Ted Mayo formally announced a proposed ordinance that would authorize the City Manager and the Urban Projects Director to advertise for bids for the 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Street Improvement Program and to enter into contract with the lowest, most qualified bidder, reserving the right to reject any or all bids. Mr. McManamon seconded the procedural action to publicize the procurement step.
The sun-shining is a required procedural step that lets the public and prospective contractors know the city intends to solicit bids. Council indicated the item will return for formal consideration after bids are solicited and the administration evaluates submissions.
