Library finance update: healthy budget despite camera-system overage

The Dell Rapids Library Board heard a finance update at its meeting in which the director said the library's finances are in good shape despite a minor expense related to a new camera system.
"So everything is looking really well," the library director (speaker S2) told the board, adding that the library is over halfway through the year. She flagged "a little bit of an overage because of the camera system that the library got at the same time that the city did," and said staff are working to determine how much of that expense can be absorbed without supplementing the library budget.
The director said Claire has resigned from the finance role and that other staff (Steve, Tammy, Britney, Heather) are dividing responsibilities during the transition. Because of that change, the director said she did not have a formal finance report to present this month but expects to resume regular reporting next month. "So no report for you guys to vote on this time," she said.
