As part of the operating procedures update, trustees codified a practice requiring the board president to submit announcements at least three business days before a meeting.
The Board President explained that previously announcements were sent informally by email and that the new language places the expectation in the procedures: "Added to number 5, receive board president's announcements at least 3 business days prior to the meeting." Trustees expressed support for putting the timing in writing to avoid missed announcements in future meetings.
Board staff and trustees noted the change should improve meeting preparedness and help ensure that announcements are available to the full board in advance of the agenda. Staff will implement the notification practice as part of the adopted procedures.
