Staff said the building’s small footprint and lack of a traditional commercial façade limit visibility of a monument sign and create a hardship for business identification.
"Applicant is seeking the roof sign to provide additional business identification," staff said, and recommended approval of the variance with no conditions. No members of the public spoke in opposition during the work session; the council did not finalize a vote during the work session.
