Superintendent Tony Willis opened the recognitions portion of the meeting by presenting Career and Technical Education Month remarks and inviting district CTE student leaders to speak.
Caitlin Dumar, a student at Weaver High School, described CTE as combining academics with hands-on learning and emphasized leadership opportunities through student organizations. "My name is Caitlin Dumar, and I'm from Weaver High School. I'm serving as the central district vice president for the Alabama FMA Association," she said. Trustee comments followed; the board signed a proclamation declaring February as CTE Month in Calhoun County and invited a group photo.
