Calhoun County Schools reports favorable Cognia engagement review, identifies two improvement areas

Deputy Superintendent Summer Davis told the board the district completed a Cognia engagement review on Feb. 9 and that reviewers gave broadly favorable feedback while identifying two areas for improvement. Davis said the district’s self-assessment covers 31 standards and that the evidence portfolio (classroom observations, stakeholder surveys and data analysis) was submitted in January ahead of the virtual review.
Davis said the review affirmed strengths across stakeholder satisfaction and several student-performance measures; she also noted where the district will focus improvement work. "The engagement review process is a 6 year cycle," Davis said, describing the cadence for evidence submission and midcycle checkpoints. She told trustees an official engagement report should arrive in about 30–45 days and that the review team recommended two targeted improvement areas the district will address during its continuous-improvement cycle.
