Board hears updates on fill at Barefoote Place and tree-clearing at 95 Lake Street

Planning staff reported that significant amounts of fill were brought onto a residential lot in Gunstock Acres (Barefoote Place) on slopes exceeding 25 percent, that a neighbor reported some of the fill had washed into common land and perhaps Poor Farm Brook, and that a stop-work order had been placed previously and may have been removed. The report was informational and no Board action was required at this time.
Separately, the Board was updated on tree cutting at the former China Bistro site at 95 Lake Street; staff said a number of trees were cut and that a mess of exposed trash had been revealed, and that cutting had likely stopped after encountering wet areas. Board members noted the visible mess and the potential for wetland concerns.
