Planning Board grants waivers and approves small Hannaford addition

Representatives for Hannaford and Maple Rock LLC presented an amended site plan to add a 690-square-foot freezer area and make site improvements at the Hannaford store on Lake Shore Road. Neil Hansen of Tighe & Bond said the addition is at the back of the building and not customer-facing; the submittal requested four checklist waivers commonly used on developed lots.
Board members discussed sidewalk removal, emergency access routing and landscaping waivers. The Board found good cause for waivers (checklist Items 11, 12, 25 and 32) and approved the application subject to the applicant obtaining any other required approvals. "They have requested four (4) waivers," the minutes note, and the Board found the waivers were reasonable for the already-developed site.
