City Manager: $621,688 returned to general fund; shelter and park projects need estimates

Mavromatis distributed an AEP notice and said, "so far it looks like for with $621,688.09 that money is clearly back in our general fund." He explained that year‑end scrubbing of accounts — moving unused balances back into general fund accounts — produces the available amount and that staff is waiting on a few point‑of‑sale closings before presenting final budget numbers.
He said the city is awaiting approvals on shelter plans and that a park project will require additional funds to reach occupancy: "We're somewhere between 35 and 50,000 more to finish that project. If not my direction is going to be, then finish it so it will pass occupancy." Mavromatis said he will present firm numbers to council in a future meeting so council can decide how to allocate funds.
