Council received a construction timeline for the Beatty Park stream restoration and heard that additional funding may be required to finish the project.
Mr. Albaugh said a pre‑construction meeting was held and the contractor expects to start about Feb. 9, with work taking six to eight weeks and planting of stabilizing shrubbery planned for May. He said that all permitting is in hand but that the full project scope is contingent on raising the remaining funds.
City staff later told council they are seeking firm cost estimates; City Manager Jim Mavromatis said the park project could need an additional $35,000 to $50,000 to reach occupancy, and that grant opportunities might be explored if the council wants to pursue them.
The council received the update as informational; no formal vote occurred at the Jan. 20 meeting.
