Councilors pressed for revisions to the parking ordinance and clearer enforcement tools after reporting that some parking tickets were not being acted on in municipal court. Mr. Walker said enforcement is ineffective until ordinance language and ticketing procedures are corrected; Law Director Costa Mastros said a draft revision exists and that the city needs to coordinate with staff before moving forward.
Separately, council discussed delays in installing approved handicap parking signs. Ms. Hoover said approved applicants were still waiting for sign installation and asked staff to resolve the backlog. City Manager Jim Mavromatis and Mr. Mastros agreed to review the ordinance text and implementation steps and to return with recommended changes and timelines.
