DDA highlights Restaurant Week (Feb. 27'Mar. 8) and welcomes new SLPR executive director

DDA staff announced Restaurant Week from Feb. 27 through Mar. 8 with 28 restaurants participating; the board also welcomed Tyler Carpenter as the newly appointed Southern Lakes & Park Recreation executive director.
DDA Director Michael Hart reminded the board that Restaurant Week will run Feb. 27 through Mar. 8 and noted participation from Fenton Township and the City of Linden. Chelsea Mills said "there are twenty-eight restaurants involved in the event" and that menus and specials are being uploaded and promoted on social media.
During the call to the audience, Tyler Carpenter introduced himself as the newly appointed Southern Lakes & Park Recreation (SLPR) Executive Director and expressed interest in partnering with the DDA on future events; Chair Craig Schmidt welcomed Carpenter and said the DDA looks forward to collaboration.
Hart and staff encouraged merchants to participate and finish promotional uploads this week. The board discussed a tentative March meeting date change (proposed March 24) to be confirmed by email, and adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
