Commission approves up to $20,000 in TIF support for downtown master plan

The Lewistown City Commission unanimously approved Resolution No. 4211 on Nov. 3, authorizing up to $20,000 in Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds to support a downtown master plan developed by the Lewistown Downtown Association with technical support from Snowy Mountain Development (SMDC).
City Manager Holly Phelps told the Commission the TIF Board had recommended the award and that the TIF funds would be used toward the required local match for the grant application. Commissioner Robertson noted the grant requires a local match and moved to approve Resolution No. 4211; the roll call vote recorded in the minutes was unanimous.
The action advances planning work intended to guide downtown redevelopment and façade/streetscape priorities; no cost share breakdown beyond the $20,000 ceiling was included in the minutes.
