The Boyne City Public Schools Board of Education held annual officer elections during the meeting and named Zarena Cope president by unanimous ballot after a nomination and second. The Chair asked members to raise hands and the board confirmed the slate.
The Chair called for nominations and "Motion by Jill; support by Savannah" closed nominations for president and "unanimous ballot be cast for Zarena Cope as president," the Chair said. The board followed the same process to elect Joel Schroth as vice president; Mary Town to the office of treasurer; and Sarah Ward as secretary. The Chair conducted voice votes and confirmed each motion passed.
The officer elections were procedural and carried without debate. The appointments set the leadership for the board's 2026 work and will guide committee assignments and meeting organization going forward.
