City earns SDML platinum safety award; council moves into executive session

Administrator (S3) reported that the city was awarded the Loss Control Safety Achievement Award at the platinum level by the South Dakota Municipal League (SDML) and said the award reflects staff commitment to safety and contributes to reduced insurance premiums.
“We actually save money when we have a good safety track record,” Administrator (S3) said, describing staff participation in safety meetings and conferences. Later in the meeting a motion to enter executive session was made and seconded; the council voted by voice to go into executive session.
