At tonight’s meeting the council approved the consent agenda and claims payable by voice vote and then approved pay application number 3 to BX Civil and Construction for the 3rd Street Bridge in the amount of $273,734.21 after brief timeline and schedule comments. The motion to pay was moved and seconded and carried.
Council also approved an outdoor parking‑lot event permit for Norby’s end‑of‑summer parking lot party; staff indicated a special alcohol license request will be considered at a later meeting. Mayor Marsha Simmons read a proclamation declaring Aug. 6, 2025 as Professional Engineers Day in Dell Rapids. The city administrator reminded the public that a special budget meeting is set for Wednesday, Aug. 13 at 5:00 p.m. and staff will provide materials in advance. The council subsequently voted to enter executive session under SDCL 1‑25‑2 for personnel matters.
