A representative of the Dell Rapids Baseball Association told the council the association has been a strong city partner, providing primary labor on facility projects and contributing an estimated $50,323 in financial‑equivalent investments since 2023. The representative described recent improvements—new dugouts, bench replacement, resurfacing—and said volunteers continue to lead maintenance and capital work.
For 2026 the association requested $109,000 to finish a large renovation at Volunteer Field that would include a grass surface, irrigation and new dugouts and backstop. The presenter said about $75,000 of the request would cover grass and leveling and roughly $15,000 would cover irrigation; the association will follow up with a detailed project breakdown for staff review. Council asked staff to obtain the detailed listing before making any funding decisions.
