A Lifeline Animal Showcase representative presented during Announcements and Presentations, introduced a dog named Guppy, and invited residents to adopt, foster, or volunteer. The representative described flexible fostering options (one day to multi-month arrangements) and highlighted evening and weekend availability at their DeKalb County location.
The presenter announced a ribbon cutting the following day for a new pet neighborhood of about 120 spaces, explaining it will prioritize "court case dogs"—animals held as evidence in legal proceedings that cannot be adopted while cases remain open—and said the additional spaces will help the shelter manage capacity. The presenter gave the shelter census as 485 animals and said their goal is 475, noting the shelter was 10 animals over that goal. "She is the sweetest little thing," the presenter said of Guppy during the introduction.
The chair thanked Lifeline Animal Showcase and encouraged residents looking for a pet to visit the shelter.
