During the Open Forum, Heath Emberg suggested scheduling an indoor workday to begin trail planning or to make edits to the Open Space Plan during winter, and he recommended assembling resources such as property lists, town maps, and trail maps. He described the ACROSS Lexington program as a model he would like to replicate in Kingston. Assistant Agent Minenna offered to assemble those resources and Lauren McLane offered to consult a coworker familiar with GIS mapping; the Committee chose not to schedule a separate workday and decided to continue the planning discussion at the next meeting.
Megan Hickey suggested meeting with Amber Stearns from the Bay Circuit Trail to coordinate routing and volunteers. Assistant Agent Minenna also updated the Committee on an intern’s trail camera project: cameras were retrieved from Patuxet Park and installed near the Kingston Senior Center, and the intern is still collecting and organizing photos so there are no results to share yet.
