Council gave the first reading to Ordinance No. 15-26, which authorizes the mayor to enter an agreement with MKSK to perform site design services for the Traxler Park/Arboretum project. Law Director John Gasior said a representative from MKSK would be at the next meeting to present the concept.
Council Member Jennifer Demaline voiced concerns about language in a 'Whereas' clause referencing pedestrian access from Stoney Ridge Road and vehicular access from Centennial Avenue; Mr. Gasior clarified that only a pedestrian footbridge from Stoney Ridge Road is planned and that parking would be provided at the Stoney Ridge Road lot used for high school football games. Ms. Demaline requested a sketch for the next Work Session; Ms. Mary Berges described the recommended site as overlooking French Creek and accessible from the Stoney Ridge Road parking area. Staff agreed to provide sketches and more details at the next meeting.
